We live in a generation where everybody wants to be updated at all times, through the latest gadgets. Proven true by the universal usage of Facebook Statuses, Tweets and +1’s, general information like our current location, who we are with, where we’ll go, and, thanks to Instagram, what we are about to eat, are information that we, admit it or not, never fail to update.

Importance of InformationOn popular social media sites like Facebook and Pinterest, we have control on the information we can relay to our friends, co-worker, and acquaintances. In certain organizations, however, the management’s hands are tied on what information they can provide. These information standards are covered by the Data Protection Act. I wouldn’t be surprised if you haven’t heard of the DPA before. But if you want to better understand it, consider these three important principles under the act:
