Skills vs. Diploma | Luke Roxas

Nowadays, there’s more to skills than the letterhead on a piece of paper bearing one’s name and his degree.  Skills are what count most in a competitive world of job interviews and line-ups.  It is the stamp of approval looked upon by managers and company heads the world over.  People who depend on their skills and capabilities will go a longer way than those who think that success is proportional to the quality of the school a person graduated from.

Skills vs DiplomaBecause of the competitive nature of graduates right now, a lot of people have turned to certain workshops to hone their innate talents in their chosen field.  It is right that they undergo such trainings to make them more knowledgeable and up-to-date with the latest innovations.  Aside from these workshops, certification tests are also offered to provide graduates the eligibility to practice their profession on a certified level.  If we take a look back at the past, we’d notice how the general public placed so much value on diplomas and school connections. But times have changed, and we have evolved into an era of equal opportunity for all. Those who are the best at what they do can be recognized and rewarded, regardless of their educational background.
