The Caliraya Lake is a man-made body of water that is situated in Lumban, Laguna. It was created in 1930 by a US Army man. Since then, the man-made lake remains to be a good fishing spot not just for tourists but also for settlers near the area. Continuous operations were made to further beautify the surroundings of Caliraya Lake and it became a fancy location for vacation homes similar to those in Western countries. In the 1980’s, Caliraya Lake experienced some downfalls when the place was occupied by the New People’s Army. However, ways of maintaining the serenity of the place continued since 1980.
